This beautifully hand carved Buddha statue is in the gesture of protection. Lord Buddha is seated in Dhyana Asana also known as meditative pose. In this position the legs are crossed, closely locked with the soles of both feet visible. He is seated on a Viswapadmasana, a throne or pedestal where the lotus petals are arranged in a double row. The lotus seat upon which Lord Buddha sits on symbolizes His divine origins.
